See You in 2012!!!

See You in 2012!!!

It is with a good amount of trepidation and sadness that I’m announcing that Common Sense Marketing will be on hiatus until early 2012, for a couple of different reasons –

1. I’ve just got too damn much on my plate right now.

There are people in the world who can work 70 hours a week consistently and be fine, but it turns out I’m not one of those people.  Unfortunately, pulling double duty here and at my day job has got me sick again, and right now, my priority needs to be on my writing clients.

2. I’m refocusing the site.

For a long time, I’ve felt like I’m trying to do too much with this site and that I’m targeting the wrong people inadvertently.  I’ve made a lot of progress getting these issues straightened out for the future, and I’ll be making a few big announcements about this in a few weeks, but I’m going to hold off on publishing any more until the final details are worked out.

3. Common Sense Marketing is getting redesigned!

I’m so excited about this one, as it’s something I’ve been talking about doing for a long time.  I can’t wait for you to see the new design, but there’s going to be some down time while I get that finished up and get the site moved over.

I will be back for an end of the year wrap-up post, and I appreciate all your support during this unexpected hiatus.  Looking forward to an exciting and profitable 2012!

Take care and happy holidays!

Sarah

  1. I’m so sorry to have have just discovered your site before you go on hiatus. At least I’ll have time to catch up. I found you through one of the 4hourblog’s comments, and you were the best source I’d found yet for being a complete noob/idiot’s guide to internet marketing(without pitching a huge up-front investment). Your site is like an amalgamation of dozens of incomplete beginner’s guides on SEO, copywriting, and adsense that are all scattered throughout the web. Thanks for offering all this stuff. Good luck and happy new year!

Hi Arturo – Sorry to leave you hanging, but glad to hear you’re enjoying all the content I’ve got up so far. Be back with new stuff shortly!

  2. Looking forward to seeing you back here next year, Sarah! Happy Holidays!

Sarah, do what you have to do and get well; I hope your redesign is easy on the eyes, like this one. I will miss your insights and great advice while you are away. I hope I’m not one of the ‘wrong’ people. I wish you an amazing New Year and look forward to your return.

Thanks so much – Happy New Year to you as well! I’m pretty psyched about the redesign, and can’t wait to share it with you guys 🙂

    Hi Sarah,
I think so many bloggers give up is because most have day jobs and family obligations plus trying to build their blog at the same time.

It’s smart to listen to your body and take a rest when needed.

I took a little time off from my blog towards the end of December and I’m just getting back into the swing of things. I believe that 2012 will be a great year for business success.

Definitely – blogging is a lot more demanding than most people think!

I’m very much looking forward to getting back here, but right now I’m shooting for the beginning of February. I put in my two week’s notice at my day job today and I’m expecting to spend much of that time training my replacement during the day and writing at night. But I will be back, and better than ever!

      Looking forward to 2012 🙂
