Welcome to Common Sense Marketing

Welcome to Common Sense Marketing

Click on the video above for a special “Welcome to Common Sense Marketing” message!  (A transcript of the video is below as well.)

Thanks again for stopping by my new website.  The following are just a few of the fun things I’ll be covering on  here throughout 2011:

Internet Marketing (IM) Strategy – Consider this to be a kind of “current events” section on the site.  I’ll be talking about what works – and what doesn’t work – when it comes to internet businesses.

Business Development – This’ll be the “Dr. Phil” section of Common Sense Marketing.  The articles I’ll feature in this section will focus on helping you take your business to the next level through a combination of business and personal development.

“How-To” Guides – This section will contain the nitty, gritty, how-to-actually-get-things-done guides that’ll help you improve your IM skills and automate aspects of your web business.

Hey there everyone, and Happy New Year!

I am so excited to welcome you to my new site, Common Sense Marketing – I really hope you find the information I’ll be sharing here useful in your internet business journey.

I wanted to start out this first post by telling you a little more about what this site will be and where I’m coming from.  My name is Sarah Russell, and I’ve been working online since 2007.  I work mostly as an affiliate marketer, but I also write website articles as the owner of New Arbor Enterprise.  My goal with this website is to give you the information you need to get started building ethical online businesses.

Now, there are two things I want to quickly point out about this website– the name of this site, which is “Common Sense Marketing” and the tagline, “ethical marketing for everyday people.”

The “common sense” part means that we’ll be looking at how to set up legitimate internet businesses as simply and effectively as possible.  At its core, internet marketing is very simple, and we’re going to look at how to get back to the basics that have been proven to work time and time again.  To do this, we aren’t going to rely on a bunch of gimmicks or technical tricks to make money – instead, we’re going to focus on creating sustainable businesses that actually provide value for the user.

The “ethical” part plays a huge role in setting up the kind of business I just described.  We aren’t going to scam people and we aren’t going to set up “throw away” sites that designed to make a quick buck.  I absolutely, 100% believe that it’s possible to set up responsible internet businesses that benefit both you and the user, and I’m going to show you how to do it here.

So I hope you’ll come back and read more of what I have to say.  I’m committing to posting here at least two times a week for all of 2011, and I’m really hoping to turn this site into a supportive community for people who are just getting their start online.  So go ahead and subscribe to my feed, follow me on Twitter or be my friend on Facebook so that you don’t miss any of the great content I’m going to be sharing this year.  Talk to you soon!
